Academic Background:
Mike holds an M.A. in Strategic Communication from The George Washington University.
Industry Experience:
Mike has spent nearly two decades working at the intersection of sustainability, media, and communications. He began his career covering sustainability strategy, climate policy, and social impact as a journalist before moving into advisory roles helping organizations communicate sustainability more effectively. Today, through Hower Impact, he advises companies on sustainability communications, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and content strategy.
What Mike Brings to the Conversation:
Mike brings a unique perspective shaped by experience on both sides of the sustainability communication equation. Having spent years scrutinizing sustainability claims as a journalist before helping organizations communicate them as an advisor, he understands what builds trust, what creates skepticism, and why some sustainability messages resonate while others fall flat.
