Ellen MacArthur Foundation to Share New Fashion ReModel Insights at SFF26

Ellen MacArthur Foundation Joins SFF26 as Strategic Partner

TL;DR The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is joining SFF26 as an Insights Collaborator and will share new insights from The Fashion ReModel on how customers clear out their wardrobes and what those behaviors mean for scaling resale and remaking. Kirsty Emery-Laws will present the new findings, while Haley Lieberman will moderate SFF26’s closing conversation on turning sustainability into participation, demand, and business results.

The Sustainable Fashion Forum is pleased to welcome the Ellen MacArthur Foundation as an Insights Collaborator for SFF26, taking place virtually October 29–30, 2026.

As part of its participation, the Foundation will share new insights from The Fashion ReModel, its flagship demonstration project exploring what it will take for fashion businesses to decouple revenue from the production of new garments and scale circular business models.

On October 29, Kirsty Emery-Laws, Fashion & Textiles Programme Manager, Circular Business Models at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, will present: The Fashion ReModel: What New Research Reveals About Customer Clear-Outs

The presentation will explore how customers clear out their wardrobes and what it will take for brands and retailers to turn those behaviors into a reliable, scalable source of secondhand supply for resale and remaking.

The insights come as businesses look to define the next era of growth for circular business models and better understand the customer behaviors that can enable them to scale.

The continued growth of resale depends on more than building the business model. It also depends on understanding the behaviors that make those models possible, including what people do with the clothes they already own. I’m excited for the SFF community to be among the first to hear these new insights from The Fashion ReModel and explore what they could mean for scaling circular business models.

The Foundation will also help close out SFF26. On October 30, Haley Lieberman, Director of Network & Industry, North America at the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, will moderate the conference’s closing conversation: The Adoption Playbook: Turning Sustainability Into Participation, Demand, and Business Results

The session will translate insights from across the two-day program into decisions teams can take back to their organizations: where consumer insight should influence product and strategy, what to test before investing further, how to strengthen participation and demand, and how to make the case internally for what works.

Lieberman brings more than a decade of experience building and scaling technology-driven circular solutions in fashion alongside her current work stewarding corporate partnerships across the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s mission areas.

The Fashion ReModel is demonstrating the beginning of real change across the fashion industry. To make that happen, we need to reach the people who can turn thinking into action. That’s why we're bringing the project's latest insights to the audience at SFF26 — these are the key players who will harness the innovation and creativity needed to drive that transformation.

About SFF26

SFF26 is the annual flagship conference hosted by the Sustainable Fashion Forum, taking place virtually October 29–30, 2026. Centered on The Science of Adoption, this year’s conference examines why strong sustainability solutions don’t automatically gain traction and what it takes to move them from intention to adoption.

Designed for fashion operators, sustainability executives, and senior decision-makers, SFF26 brings together behavioral science, consumer psychology, cultural insight, consumer research, and business strategy to explore how companies can build consumer demand, strengthen internal support, and demonstrate the business value of sustainability.

Sessions will premiere during the two-day conference alongside live conversations and Q&As and will be available to attendees on demand.
