Shannon Parker spearheads regulatory and industry engagement, as well as oversees sustainability and commercial feedstock strategy at Circ, a US-based textile-to-textile recycling start-up backed by Inditex and Breakthrough Energy Ventures.

Her role at the company involves measuring Circ’s internal impact and working with industry partners, from brands to supply chain, to build circular pathways from feedstock to product. She’s also responsible for leading industry and regulatory engagement initiatives, such as ZDHC and Textile Exchange industry working groups, and driving Circ’s work with the Association of Chemical Textile Recyclers and the Environmental Data Coalition. She also supports project management for brands seeking to integrate Circ’s recycled fiber and yarn into their products, helping them to take their first steps towards circularity targets.

Before joining Circ in 2021, Parker served as a Sustainability Consultant for large organizations such as WeWork and Under Armour, working to integrate the Higg Facilities Environmental Module with their supply base. This role allowed her to interact with players throughout the supply chain – brands, mills, and waste aggregators. Further evidence of Parker’s skill in impact measurement and strategy is her success founding and selling her own company, an LCA focused startup called Carbon Insights.

Parker earned her BA in Psychology & Behavioral Sciences from Johns Hopkins University. Post-grad, she went on to receive her Masters of Environmental Management, Business and the Environment from Duke University’s Nicholas School of the Environment, as well as her MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.
