We’re thrilled to announce SFF founder and CEO Brittany Sierra has been appointed a founding member of Rothy's Sustainability Council.

Committed to doubling down on its sustainability efforts, this Tuesday, Rothy’s formally announced its Sustainability Council, a group of scientists, designers and experts that will work together to create industry-wide, zero-waste product solutions for Rothy’s and beyond.Rothy's

"Sustainability is extremely layered and complex — no one has all the answers," said Sierra. "Collaborative initiatives such as this are needed to move the industry forward and drive the necessary progress required to create long-term change."

Since its launch in 2015, Rothy’s has focused on reducing waste in every step of the shoemaking process. Together, the council will provide guidance and support in helping Rothy's make meaningful progress towards its goal of achieving 100% circular products by 2023 after establishing a pilot recycling program in 2021.

Other council members include Lewis Perkins, president of the Apparel Impact Institute; Samata Pattinson, chief executive officer of Red Carpet Green Dress, a sustainable fashion campaign occurring every Oscars season; Michael Sadowski, an independent sustainability consultant; and Jing Wang, director, North Asia Green Building Certifications Inc., and U.S. Green Building Council. Representation from Rothy's includes Roth Martin, co-founder and president; Saskia van Gendt, head of sustainability; and Sun Lee, vice president of design
