Sustainability is a hot topic among brands and consumers alike, and for a good reason. The fashion industry's environmental and social impact — from greenhouse gas emissions to biodiversity loss and microplastics, to the mistreatment of garment workers and systemic racial injustices — can no longer be swept under the rug. Across the industry, it seems like everyone is talking about sustainability. But talk isn't enough.

Over the past few years, numerous brands committed to lessening their impact on the planet. From lofty sustainability goals to investments in new technologies and bio-fabricated materials to multi-stakeholder initiatives across the industry, the consensus is the same — radical systems change is needed to transform the wasteful industry into one that puts people and the planet first.

However, despite this understanding, fashion continues to fall short of transforming its good intentions into tangible action and meaningful impact. After decades of operating 'business as usual' and ignoring blatant cracks in the system, the pandemic has forced fashion not only to acknowledge its flaws but to finally take action in finding solutions to solve fashion's most pressing concerns.

Featured Sessions:

  • Farm to Fashion: Building Supply Chains from the Ground Up
Regenerative agriculture as a tool to meet carbon goals, fight climate change, and support farmers while building a resilient supply chain.

  • Fiber Stewardship: Why The Fashion Industry Should Be Listening to Indigenous Communities
As the fashion world grapples with rebuilding a less wasteful industry, often the conversation is centered around new technologies and innovations that can "save us" from climate change. However, perhaps the answer to fashion's most pressing problems can be found by going back to the basics.

  • Policies and Politics: Law and Policy to Improve End-of-Life Care
How policies on global and local levels can drive circularity while holding the fashion industry accountable.

  • Concept to Reality: Closing the Loop
What will it take to establish the infrastructure for collecting clothes, scaling the technology for recycling them into new products, and getting buy-in from both brands and consumers?

  • Driving Profit with Purpose
What does it take to build a truly ethical and sustainable fashion company from the ground up that's good for the planet, people and still makes a profit?

Join us April 20-24th on the SFF digital main stage for five days of action-inspired keynotes, panel discussions, and networking as we come together as an industry to reimagine the future of fashion and identify action-driven solutions with creativity and collaboration.
