Sustainable Fashion Forum Returns to Portland October 2026

The annual conference will bring together leaders across fashion, business, sustainability, and behavioral science to explore what it takes to move sustainable ideas from ambition to real-world adoption.

The Sustainable Fashion Forum (SFF) will return to Portland, Oregon, from October 28–30, 2026, bringing together leaders and practitioners from across fashion, sustainability, business, innovation, and behavioral science for three days of cross-disciplinary conversation and exchange.

This year’s conference will explore the Science of Adoption, examining the behavioral, cultural, and commercial forces that determine why some sustainability initiatives gain traction while others struggle to move beyond good intentions.

For years, fashion’s sustainability efforts have focused on building better systems: new materials, circular business models, traceability infrastructure, regulation, technology, and ambitious corporate strategies. That work remains essential. But the existence of a better solution doesn’t guarantee that consumers will choose it, organizations will embrace it, or markets will reward it.

“If you work in sustainability, you’re in the behavior change business,” says Sustainable Fashion Forum founder Brittany Sierra. “We’ve spent years building better systems, but adoption isn’t automatic. The next phase of sustainability requires understanding how people actually make decisions.”

SFF26 will bring sustainability into conversation with behavioral science, consumer psychology, culture, and business strategy to examine what actually moves people, organizations, and markets from intention to action.

Across two days of programming, the conference will explore consumer decision-making, cultural influence, perceived value, trust, communication, organizational buy-in, policy, and the commercial realities that shape whether sustainable products, programs, innovations, and business models succeed.

The conference will begin with an opening reception on October 28, followed by two days of programming on October 29 and 30. Attendees can expect keynotes, cross-disciplinary conversations, real-world case studies, and opportunities to connect with leaders working across fashion and sustainability.

Following the conference, SFF will publish the SFF26 Intelligence Report, bringing together key insights, case studies, research, and recommendations emerging from the event.

Additional speakers and programming will be announced in the months ahead.
